How does this tournament format work?
In this tournament format, 60 teams first play a group stage in 6 groups. The teams are then divided according to their ranking into final groups of up to eight teams. Within these groups, they continue playing for the individual final positions.

Structure of the final rounds
Each complete group of eight teams plays twelve final-stage matches. The first four matches divide the teams between the subsequent placement matches. Winners and losers then follow separate paths that determine which final positions they contest in their last match.

After the group stage, 56 of the 60 teams are divided into 7 final groups of eight. Each complete final group plays twelve matches. An adapted final stage is used for the remaining 4 teams.
The final four teams play two semi-finals. The winners then play for positions 57 and 58, while the losers play for positions 59 and 60. This determines all four remaining final positions individually.
