In this tournament format, 56 teams first play a group stage in 2 groups. The teams are then divided according to their ranking into final groups of up to eight teams. Within these groups, they continue playing for the individual final positions.

Structure of the final rounds
After the group stage, the teams are ranked according to their finishing positions. The highest-ranked teams form the first final group, the next teams form the following final group, and so on. Each complete final group consists of eight teams and plays cross-over and placement finals to determine all eight final positions.
