In this tournament format, 15 teams first play a group stage in 5 groups. The teams are then divided according to their ranking into final groups of up to eight teams. Within these groups, they continue playing for the individual final positions.

Structure of the final rounds
The group stage determines which teams meet in the final rounds. A separate final group is formed for every eight teams. Within such a group, every team remains in competition until its definitive final position is known, so all eight places in the group are determined individually.
