Assign referees at a tournament with Mytournament.info

Categories and referees per match

Within a tournament, multiple categories can be defined (e.g. age, gender or skill level). For each category you can specify whether matches should be led by one or two referees, ensuring the coverage always matches the type of match:

Referee preferences and restrictions
Referee preferences and restrictions

When entering referees you can define preferences and restrictions to make the allocation fairer and more efficient. For example:

  • Number of consecutive matches: set how many matches a referee preferably officiates on the same field.
  • Allowed categories: define which categories the referee may officiate.
  • Available fields: specify on which fields the referee can be active.
  • Unavailable time slots: avoid scheduling referees at times when they are unavailable.

Flexible ways of assigning

When generating a tournament, the default assignment is always applied. Preferences are taken into account and the system tries to distribute referees evenly across all matches. In addition, the following options are available:

Referee assignment

  1. Default assignment – automatic allocation based on defined parameters.
  2. Reset assignment – remove all assignments and start again.
  3. Not during own team’s matches – prevents assigning a referee while their own team is playing. Optionally restricted to matches in their own group. ¹
  4. Exclusion based on club name – prevents assignment of referees during matches where a team from their own club is playing. ¹
  5. Manual assignment – drag & drop referees to matches via the user-friendly interface.

¹ Note: these options only work if the referee’s name matches the name of a team. The team name must be unique within the tournament. For club name recognition, any suffix in the team name is removed: “Team 1” and “Team A” are assumed to belong to the club “Team”.
